Setting:

We are looking for a Key Account Manager focusing on one of the world’s largest FMCG companies. An account with huge strategic importance for our client: a Dutch company in the packaging industry with a global reach, unique products and a strong, innovative drive to continue their growth.

Position:

The Key Account Manager reports to the CCO. He/she realizes and maximizes the quantitative as well as qualitative targets of one global account and creates customer value all over. The Key Account Manager leads and manages a cross functional team, while positioning them to the applicable counterparts with the client organization. He/she manages all related matters, extending from supply chain, product development, cross- and upsell to delivery.

 

The relationship with the client is not just like any other account. For both parties, this it’s of partnership of high strategic importance. Challenges are in most cases interconnected (externally and internally) and require a recognition of the linkage between the issues. With a proactive approach, strong insights in production processes and a solution-oriented mindset, current and future issues are anticipated and dealt with. The Key Account Manager interacts with counterparts from shop floor level up to executive level, for which he/she is required to understand the different needs and demands.

Skills:

Next to a proactive and hands-on mentality, the ideal candidate brings strong people management- and communication skills. The position is all about leadership, communication and managing expectations. He/she is a go getter with a natural technical interest, a real connector and above all a strong relationship builder. Next to a highly responsive mindset, openness (no matter what the situation) and initiative in problem solving solutions, he/she has an eye for new and interesting developments internally and externally.

 

Requirements:

  • Hbo or university degree (track record at this level)
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales/business development
  • Hands on mentality
  • Relationship skills, multi-level
  • Strong with figures /spreadsheets
  • Result oriented with strong experience in negotiating multi-year contracts
  • Clear experience/affinity with the development and supply chain side of the business
  • Excellent communicator in Dutch and English
  • Good project management & organization skills
  • Solution oriented mindset: proactive, responsive, flexible

The role requires frequent travelling (approx. 40%).
